"For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal under the extraordinary leadership of Baretta Massey. From the very beginning, she made it clear that her mission wasn’t just to lead a school—but to grow leaders. And that’s exactly what she’s done for me.

Under her mentorship, I’ve sharpened my leadership toolbox in powerful and practical ways. I’ve grown deeply in my understanding of instruction—particularly the Teaching and Learning Cycle, Data-Driven Decision-making, and the intentional use of student data to drive real results. She also expanded my thinking around community leadership, helping me move from managing relationships to truly cultivating community partnerships that serve and elevate our students and families.

Because of her consistent coaching, high expectations, and unshakable belief in my potential, I’ve now passed all the necessary milestones to step into my next role: principal. I am honored to have the opportunity to choose a school to lead next year—and even more grateful that I’ll be doing so with her continued support in my corner.
